Henry`s Mexican Restaurant in Galveston Island

Okay soooo... The food was super delicious. They must have been short handed because I was in the drive through for 20 minutes. I checked. That sucked but I am sure that was a fluke. The food was super good.

I’ve came to Galveston on vacation for more than 10 times already and I’d never gotten such bad service, the two people that were in front were really rude when I asked for two to go boxes and they also threw a tray with my soup plate in it and almost fell off the counter and spill on my feet and after that they made fun of me because of that. I wish a 0 star was available so I could put that, I do not recommend this place for any reason

Went in and ordered Salvadorean breakfast to go. It was tasty (fried plantains were good) but for the price ($8.66) the portion was kinda small. The staff were friendly enough (though sandals didn't seem appropriate for working in a restaurant), and I didn't have to wait *too* long for my order. The lobby was ok I guess, not dirty but not immaculate either. I didn't go in the restrooms. The decor is a little strange, but in an interesting way, like something you would see in a third world Latin American country haha. But I liked the regaetton music they were playing and they serve beer, which I thought was neat. As nice as the murals and artwork on the side of the building was, they really should get rid of super-creepy looking bugs bunny with the goo-goo eyeballs that is half chipped away anyway on the front window of the building. I didn't include a picture but you can't miss him if you drive by the store lol. At least repaint him or something!

Great food friendly staff and good price.

Loved everything about this place. It's definitely a local spot. Customer service was great our cashier noticed this was our 1st time being here & helped us with menus and had great patience waiting on our order. The wait wasn't long for the amount of traffic there was. My family was very satisfied with the taste of food as well. I'll have to keep this place in mind for future Galveston trips.

It is fabulous place for the family if you are on a budget and want to visit beautiful Galveston. The prices in my opinion are great. It is a local businesses operating currently by the owner. The Multiculturual food consists of American, Mexican, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and few chinese. They also have a variety of American drinks and imported.

This place is great. Great service, great food. My only complaint is that the wait time is incredibly long especially in the drive thru. The inside atmosphere is mediocre. I would recommend this place to my friends and family.

Top notch food and service! A hidden gem. A little slow in the drive thru but that’s only because they make everything fresh and to order which is worth the wait. Also family owned so I’m all for it. Absolutely love this little place! Favorite lunch break spot😁❤️

The food was ....... Just ok. The "paella" was sooooo far away to be a Paella, That was a simple fried rice. The other 2 plates, were OK. THATS IT.

The food is amazing. I love it. However, I admit i do experience long waits in the drive thru. Today I was smart and called my order in. Instead of going through the drive thru I went inside. No one greeted me, no one acknowledged i was there, no one asked for my order or even if I had call in order. The lady behind the counter looked at me and looked away. She then came from behind the counter to clean tables. Like I said, the food is amazing but I will think twice about coming back due to the poor service experience.

The papusas were delicious and everything was fresh. We drove through and really enjoyed the food at home. Great prices and friendly staff. Will definitely be going back to Henry's!!

Easy access, counter service, lots of options, including fish. A la carte items like burritos for $3 to $4. Meals around $10. Bottled beer and some other yummy looking drinks. Friendly and fast.

Great breakfast. Sometimes the service is mediocre but the fact that they have a drive-thru even though they're a homegrown restaurant in Galveston is impressive and shows the owners skill in management. The burritos and plates are great.

This place is so slow when you go through the drive thru, I went by on Sunday and waited 45 minutes in line behind 5 vehicles. Placed my order, finally got to the window, paid the rude girl at the window, verified my order with her, got my order, got home and it was wrong. I ordered one chorizo, and one barbacoa, got home and they were both chorizo. Will never return to this place. Save your time and money this place is not worth it. I wouldnt wait in line if they were giving their food away.

Absolutely Gross!! The people don’t wear their mask correctly. They Are wiping their faces and touch food. They are eating and drinking behind the counter. The place is dirty. The food was horrible. Burger sucked. Over cooked. Bun was hard as a rock. Fries were nasty. The breakfast was just as disgusting. Don’t go!! The Workers are not wearing the mask correctly. You will get sick. Stay away

Henry's has the best burgers on the island if you like that old vintage drive-in burger. You know the kind that you need to have a roll of paper towels to eat. Their breakfast menu is full of mouth watering dishes and the coffee is always fresh. The staff is always super friendly and ready to help you decide what to eat and the prices won't break the bank.

I absolutely love this place. It is Latin America street food brought indoors. They also serve a wide variety of dishes. For me, the soups are my favorite. The service can be a bit slow but that is a cultural thing and adds to the authenticity of the experience.

The food is always really good and consistent. It doesn't matter if you eat in the morning or at night your food will be exactly the same and always hot. The only thing I can complain about from Henry's is the fact that every time I go in the staff members look at me like I don't belong there. I just want burritos.

I've been down in Galveston for a few months now and Henry's has me hooked. The staff are polite and always make you feel like your welcome. Henry's will definitely be a stop on my next trip down. Football, Beer, Awesome Service and badass food... Why wouldn't it be... It definitely needs to be on the list of places to eat in Galveston for sure!!! If you like Tex-Mex and all of the above. We came here to eat after visiting Moody Gardens. The food was good, the portions were big, and the prices were great. There is not table service and they do not give chips and salsa with the meals. We had a variety of foods (there were nine of us in all) and everyone was happy with their food. I would definitely recommend trying this place if you are in the area.

Service was very slow but the fish sandwich was good. Fries are like cheap wal/sams fries. There's only small and large fries. If it's just you then get the small. Large iissss LARGE.

Excellent home cooked seafood. Large portions. A Galveston tradition. Nothing fancy same decor but that's what makes it so authentic. I love it.
